On June 16th-17th, three Georgia Baptist Students lived out their faith while representing Georgia at the National Bible Drill and Speakers Competition in Texas.
Elana Hudson (Union Baptist, Pitts), Elizabeth Beatty (Shirley Hills, Warner Robins), and McKenzie Ford (Crossroads, Valdosta) joined 92 others from around the country serving at Mission Arlington on June 16. These students learned about how a community can be impacted for Christ as they toured Mission Arlington with mission legend, Tillie Burgin.
While in Texas, these student volunteers and families sorted and organized clothes for their clothes closet and moved hundreds of boxes, fans, Christmas toys, etc. at Mission Arlington.
On Friday, Hudson and Beatty participated in the National Bible Drill alongside students from other states and recalled scriptures verses they had memorized and hidden in their hearts during the last year in Youth and High School Bible Drill. Ford shared her message “For Such a Time as This” in the National Student Speakers Competition and won 2nd place.
