If you are a Sunday School Director you need to attend the Georgia Baptist Sunday School Directors Summit. At this event, you will learn the skills and tasks that make a great Sunday School Director. You will hear from some of the finest Sunday School leaders and you’ll get to network with other Georgia Sunday School Directors. This event will provide you with the tools needed to lead your Sunday School and you will gain insights into your role of leading all age groups in your church.
On Friday, November 2nd, following the 8 breakout sessions and supper, at 7:00 pm we will gather for a wonderful worship experience.
Our keynote speaker will be Eric Rentz.
He is a native of Waycross. He is a graduate of Ware County High School, Georgia Southern University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Eric has served five Georgia Baptist churches: Calvary Baptist of Waycross, Friendship Baptist of Reidsville, Mendes Baptist of Glennville, Antioch Baptist of Claxton, and he currently serves as Pastor of First Baptist in Ludowici. Eric was ordained to the ministry at his home church, Central Baptist of Waycross. He has taken leadership roles in his local association and he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Baptist Convention. In 2014, Eric served as the Vice President of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He and his wife Sandi have 3 children, Seth, Caroline, and Garrison. Eric is a Sunday School pastor and has led his current church to be one of the fastest growing churches in Georgia. Since coming to FBC Ludowici, he has led them to increase in Sunday School enrollment from 194 to 537 and Sunday School average attendance from 151 to 356. In addition, Eric has led his church to reach out into their community. Since 2005 they’ve baptized 323 new followers of Jesus.
Come learn from this pastor; as well as other conference leaders, so that your Sunday School can grow and make a difference in your community.
Leading us in worship will be Darren Aldridge.
Darren grew up in Waycross where he and his family attended Jamestown Baptist Church. He gave his lie to Christ at the age of 9 at a southern gospel quartet concert. He grew up loving music and learned how to play the guitar when he was 14. He graduated from Ware County High School and he attended South Georgia State College as well as Liberty University. He has been leading worship for over 15 years and it is his joy and passion for others to truly experience God through music. Most recently he has served as the Worship Pastor at Bridge Community Church in Blackshear and has been touring with Life Action Ministries leading worship.
Darren started 257 Worship in 2015. The purpose of this ministry is to train and equip music ministry volunteers and worship leaders to be skilled in both character and craft. Based on 1 Chronicles 25:7, where those serving in the Lord’s temple were being trained and skillful in music, 257 Worship desires to see church musicians and teams trained so that they become skillful in the roles that they serve in. You can discover more about his ministry by attending the 2018 GBSSDS or by visiting their website at 257worship.com.
