Georgia Baptist Sunday School Directors Summit: Friday Night Worship Leaders (Neil & Kevin)

Heatherwood Baptist Church in Newnan – October 27-28, 2017

If you are a Sunday School Director you need to attend the Georgia Baptist Sunday School Directors Summit. At this event you will learn the skills and tasks that make a great Sunday School Director. You will hear from some of the finest Sunday School leaders and you’ll get to network with other Georgia Sunday School Directors. This event will provide you with the tools needed to lead your Sunday School and you will gain insights in your role of leading all age groups in your church.

On Friday October 27th, following the seven breakout sessions and supper, at 7:00pm we will gather for a wonderful worship experince.  Our keynote speaker will be Kevin Williams.
Kevin became the Pastor at First Baptist Church, Villa Rica in September 2013. The church was in need of revitalization and had declined to less than 200 in Sunday School attendance and 300 in worship attendance. The church finances were also declining and the church was searching for real purpose.
In the last 3 1/2 years God has done something very dynamic.  FBC Villa Rica has baptized 553 new Christians and had a total of 1,173 join. The giving has gone from less than $900,000 to over $2,100,000 and the church is constructing new buildings and parking lots in order to handle all the new people.
Dr. Williams says, “Sunday School has been a major component of the growth process. I believe Sunday School has been the stabilizer in our church. Our Sunday School attendance has gone from 200 to around 700!  We emphasize the importance of being connected to a group/class. We understand that if someone doesn’t get connected in Sunday School the statistics show that that he/she will most likely leave the church within 5 years! No Pastor wants that!”
Come learn from this pastor; as well as other conference leaders, so that your Sunday School can grow and make a difference in your community.

Leading us in worship will be Neil Stehpens.  Coming from a long line of music ministers and songwriters, Neil has served as Worship Leader in churches in Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana, and as a choral conductor in public and private schools.  For several years he was the featured performer at Carriage and Horses restaurant in Pine Mountain, and for ten years led worship for the Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning at their Protestant Worship services. Neil is currently Worship Pastor at the Bethel Church in Butler, Georgia.  You can find Neil online at
