This past summer we had four VBS Summer Missionaries travel to seven churches in Georgia to assist with VBS or Backyard Kids Club. These four young women touched the lives of over 484 people. This resulted in eight professions of faith and many more seeds were planted.
The missionaries shared the Gospel many times each week through music and through conversations as they told the Bible story and helped with recreation, crafts, and missions rotations. At one location they were also able to help with a homeless ministry.
We have had so many wonderful comments from Pastors, VBS Directors, and hosts at each location. One of the VBS Directors told us that their kids loved the VBS Summer Missionaries and they all commented that they were energetic, well-organized, and outstanding. One of my favorite quotes was “They loved on and accepted my people just the way they are.” And most of the churches shared that they wouldn’t have enough leaders to effectively lead VBS without the VBS Summer Missionaries.
One of the VBS Summer Missionaries said that through her experiences last summer, she realized that when God’s people are obedient to His will and Word, things happen. What impacted her most was seeing God work and His Word come to life.
