There may be some of you reading this who believes that plans for VBS don’t start until the kids get out of school for the summer. However, VBS veterans know that to have a “VBS Done Right,” it’s pretty much a year-round experience. Last June LifeWay and other publishing companies announced their themes for 2014. And immediately VBS Directors everywhere began making plans, pinning to their Pinterest Boards, and started their VBS creative ideas flowing.
By beginning your plans early in the year, you can meet with church leadership and put your dates on the church calendar, plan your budget, and begin enlisting key leadership and prayer partners. And if you don’t start early, how will you ever know what great items to begin collecting from your church membership –paper towel rolls, coffee cans, fabric scraps, ribbon, boxes, etc.
What does “VBS Done Right” mean to you? Is it having enough leaders, or a great attendance, having the most spectacular decorations or the yummiest snacks? Maybe it’s great rotations or a fantastic Family Night Celebration. Perhaps it’s having great Bible studies, or seeing individuals accept Christ or grow in their relationship with Christ, or continuing the connections with the families you meet.
We want to help you find out what it means and get a jump on your “VBS Done Right” by offering Jumpstarts all across the state during the month of January. It doesn’t matter which curriculum you are using, come and learn what you can do to make sure your VBS is truly “VBS Done Right.” Check the dates and locations below and plan to come to the Jumpstart that works for you. When you attend a Jumpstart, you will have the opportunity to share with other VBS Leaders in your area as well as get some great ideas to make sure yours is “VBS Done Right!” Click here for more information on 2014 VBS Jumpstarts.
